FOLLOW UP - Alert! A Ransomware called CryptoLocker infection is spreading rapidly

Written by  NSAO

After recent growing number of incidents we felt the need to remind users about these sneaky viruses classified as RANSOMWARE. Here was our original post.

Two newer variants have been affecting alot of people called, Crytowall and Cryptodefense. These tricky viruses infect a system and start encrypting your data files and also leave behind a message guiding you to their payment website to ransom you for about $500.00 inorder for you to get the decryption key. If you don't have good backup procedures in place you could be loosing your data short of paying the ransom which we don't want to see anyone do. As paying them just helps fuel the system for them to do this to other users.

If your backup procedure does not allow you to recover files from multiple restore points in a day and/or you have not tested it in the last 6 months it is time to call NSAO now!
